Downtown Music Holdings has appointed David K. Dormon as General Counsel.
Dormon returns to Downtown after exiting his position as Vice President, Legal and Business Affairs last fall to join the international law firm Reed Smith LLP.
He replaces current General Counsel Peter Rosenthal who is planning to depart the company to pursue another opportunity.
Dormon first joined Downtown Music Holdings in 2018 as Legal Counsel and Director of Acquisitions and quickly rose to Vice President, Legal and Business affairs.
He played a key role in the sale of Downtown’s copyrights to Concord, and its acquisition of B2B tech and services company FUGA in 2020.
Dormon also played a role int he firm’s acquisition of the catalog of the Belgium-based publisher Strictly Confidential in 2019.
Prior to joining Downtown, Dormon served at the law firms of Vedder Price and Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP in Chicago.
He is a graduate of Tufts University and earned his J.D. at University of Chicago Law School.
