Jade Thirlwall, founding member of the multi-platinum British group Little Mix, has signed a solo worldwide record deal with Sony Music‘s RCA.

RCA’s UK and US teams will work in partnership to develop the artist’s solo career.

MBW is told that a debut solo album is planned from Thirlwall, but further details and timing are yet to be confirmed.

In addition, Thirlwall has signed with Full Stop Management for worldwide representation.

Los Angeles-headquartered Full Stop – run by Jeffrey Azoff, Irving Azoff and Brandon Creed – represents a roster of artists including Harry Styles, Lizzo, the Eagles, Saweetie and Mark Ronson, amongst others.

Little Mix are one of the most successful all-female groups in history, selling in excess of 60 million records, according to Sony Music.

The band’s recordings have been streamed more than 12 billion times worldwide.

They have sold over two million concert tickets worldwide, and have achieved five No.1 singles in the UK: Cannonball (2011), Wings (2012), Black Magic (2015), Shout Out to My Ex (2016) and Sweet Melody (2021).

In 2019, Thirlwall signed to Sony Music Publishing (via TwentySeven) as a songwriter.

In addition to her songwriting work for Little Mix, she has co-written songs for Britney Spears, Billy Porter and South Korean girl group Twice.

Little Mix originally formed on the UK’s X Factor talent show in 2011, a contest they went on to win.

Thirlwall joined the group alongside Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Perrie Edwards.

Nelson departed the group in December 2020, before inking a solo record deal with Polydor/Universal Music last year.

Little Mix continued as a trio, winning the BRIT Award for Best British Group in 2021, before announcing towards the end of last year that they were going on a hiatus after a decade together.

All six Little Mix studio albums have gone Top 5 on the Official UK Chart, with 2016’s Glory Days hitting No.1.

Little Mix’s final studio album, Confetti, was released in 2020.

It was the first album by the group to be released on RCA/Sony Music; their previous albums had gone through Syco/Sony Music.

Confetti reached No.2 on the UK chart, and went Top 10 in other territories including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal and Spain.

In 2021, Little Mix became the first girl group to spend a total of 100 weeks within the top 10 of the UK Singles Chart.Music Business Worldwide
