After 11 months of hoarding and supply chain disruption due to COVID-19, there are now supply chain issues due to weather in certain. Making light of a Domino’s Pizza in Texas running out of food would be in seriously bad taste, but today’s headline scanning involved reading about both miniature cows and a protein sequencing company’s IPO so the next major SC disruption may indeed result from the self-sufficiency-based glut of being able to have a cow and eat it too.

In case you were wondering, yes, that was a cheesy way of warning you that today’s B2B news is full of Supply Chain Service and Management trends. The industry is expected to be worth $41.7 billion US in 5 years, assuming that miniature cows and home protein sequencing won’t take off that quickly.

Tecsys, a provider of supply chain solutions for warehouse management, distribution and transportation management, supply management at point of use, retail order management and financial management and analytics solutions today announced its new relationship with “one of the largest national wholesale distributors of electrical material.” The company’s software has been implemented at hubs in Manitoba and Ontario, with nationwide implementation by 2024. The implementation was supported by Avalon CSC, a Tecsys integration partner.

As one of the only industries not to face a shut-down over the past year, the construction industry is reporting on its ROI on technology spends.

“We saw and heard firsthand that contractors who already had technology in place were better able to weather the storms and unforeseen changes of last year. The greatest lesson learned is to prepare for what’s next, by investing in the technology, systems and processes that make businesses more efficient and adaptable to future changes,” said Tooey Courtemanche, the CEO and Founder of Procore, the consultancy that compiled the report on how construction is using technology to improve performance.”

There is no construction industry update as to when the lumber and fence post shortage will be addressed, so your backyard pasture may need to be secured with other materials.

Since you won’t be able to ride your miniature cow (they are called Dexters, by the way) for transportation, you should probably know that UK bicycle component distributer Cyclorise has created its first B2B site.

Pandemic shut downs and the closure of gyms have seen the bicycle trade seriously affected by the pandemic supply chain disruptions.
