Automation that comes with Artificial Intelligence is increasing productivity across countries and the numbers look promising. Apart from applications for corporate setups to improve productivity, AI is also dominating the field of scientific research. Recently, artificial intelligence has been used to solve the Schrodinger Equation in quantum chemistry. This week’s guide focuses on these two domains.

AI Solves the Schrodinger Equation

Scientists at Freie Universitat Berlin have developed an AI method that calculates the ground state of Schrodinger equation in quantum chemistry. The goal of quantum chemistry is to predict physical and chemical properties of the molecules based on the arrangement of atoms in space. It avoids the need for resource-intensive and time-consuming experiments. This is achieved by solving the Schrodinger equation which is extremely difficult to do in practice.

It has been impossible to find an exact solution to arbitrary molecules that can be computed efficiently until now. The team at Freie Universitat has developed a deep learning method that is capable to achieve an unprecedented combination of computational efficiency and accuracy.

These are the countries where AI is aiding productivity the most

Artificial Intelligence has impacted many industries in terms of productivity that comes with automation. A report from Accenture and Frontier Economics shows that labour productivity in developed countries can increase by up to 40 per cent until 2035 with the influence of artificial intelligence.

Talking about the top countries, the increase in productivity that comes with AI is projected to be around 37% in Sweden, 35% in the USA, and 34% in Japan. Countries like Germany and Austria can maximise labour productivity by 30% by 2035.
